I have started reading scripture and applying it to my life, as in what is that scripture saying to me?! Of course, scripture is God’s way of communicating with us, through His word.
There have been so many times in my life that I honestly didn’t know if it was God speaking to me, or if it was me wanting it so badly that I hoped against hope it was Him speaking. Take it to open yourself and you’ll find out the truth.. So, after listening to a Bible Study with Greg Laurie, I have decided to take his advice. Just this AM I had some unexpected bills go up because, well cable, water, power, etc. do go up from time to time, sometimes more often than not.. My cable bill went up 50.00 a month, that was a big jump. So, I called them, and of course, they told me this was the cheapest rate they had, take it or leave it, yes the man on the other end said you can take it or leave it would you like to disconnect??? Boy, the flesh in me wanted to say yep I sure do.. But, I knew I needed to discuss it with Mr. Shabby before doing anything. So, I got off the phone and did my morning verse, and there it was.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Lord, saying, not all things yield, at all times, be thankful (joyful) in me. He will give us all our needs. What we have is enough. So, with the bills going up and our income not, we find new ways to get through. Did the Lord speak to me when I was worried about the cable bill as well as a couple others going up in this scripture, Indeed He did, and what He has and is given us is enough, I will PRAISE Him and be joyful in all that I do have. I hope that you are all having a wonderful Thursday. Sending out all my love to each one of you. I hope that you too in these troubled times are trying harder to apply God’s word to your daily lives each and every day.
Love,
Debbie
