Getting ready to ring in the New Year, as I take down the Christmas Tree for the last time in this house

Tonight is a time to reflect on 20 of some incredible years in this home, aline with aomw of the hardest days of my life, contemplating the bittersweet moment of taking down the tree and putting it away for the last time here. So many precious memories, the good, the bad, and the ugly, have shaped me into the person I am today. I used to think I couldn’t leave this house because it held so many memories, until I realized that my peace of mind was what truly mattered, and that my memories would always be with me, carried in my heart wherever I go. I love this home, but it’s time for a new chapter. Too many stairs, too many rooms, too much to clean, and too much to heat and cool, have made me realize that it’s time to simplify my life. As I’ve shared with you, I’m having the hardest time finding a new home within my budget of $160,000, without having to take on debt, simply because I have no debt, but my Social Security isn’t huge. With faith and perseverance, I know that this too shall pass, and good things will take the place of the sadness. Wishing you all a blessed 2026, may all your dreams come true, may your health be optimal, your wallet be filled, and your lives be filled with joy and purpose.

  4. You are wise to think ahead to living within your retirement income. You have worried before about how you would get something done or paid for and God made a way. He will again. I missed how you got to this point in your life but I remember your circumstances a few years ago. You are beautiful, smart, courageous, and able to handle anything. Wishing you a wonderful New Year filled with happiness, good health, and stability in your life.

  5. My hope and actually knowledge is that God provides. We must trust, hope and rest in that. My financial situation is in the toilet compared to yours and God provided. It isn’t what I expected, but I’m ok. The most important thing is, we are safe, warm, peaceful, and can care for ourselves. I hope the most perfect little home pops up.

  6. Wishing you a happy & healthy 2026. Things will get better…..you’ll find the perfect home and you’ll make it a wonderful safe haven. Thinking of you….you got this girl!!! Xo

  7. I hope you find your perfect home soon. And while I personally dislike debt, let me give you some food for thought. What if adding a small amount of debt would give you peace of mind and ease your stress? Maybe that’s worth a million dollars

    1. Several months ago, Mr. shabby wanted a Rubicon jeep he does not have credit he has never had credit. This has been owe 11 months say so I signed for him to buy that jeep. The payments are quite steep however, Mr. shabby makes very good money with that in my name, I couldn’t finance a nickel because of my debt to income ratio. I owe nothing but that jeep but my Social Security is under $1500 a month so I can’t finance anything whatever I find has to be the equity I have in this home which is roughly $160,000 believe me that’s not much and if it is, it’s in an area that is not safe for a 70-year-old woman living alone that’s honestly about all I can say about that but I do know that God is working and he’ll show me the right thing to do when that time comes wishing you a blessed 2026
