My COVID Story!

Please follow and like us:

I cried out to God over and over throughout this covid ordeal, and I still do, I have to TRUST HIM through all storms. It is not always easy-

It was Christmas, and 76 degrees out. Not all of our family came, my youngest son, his children, and my brother came from rehab. It was the first time I had seen him since I took him in August for a 12 to 18 months stay in a drug rehab facility. My son was to pick him up, and on Christmas morning 24 hours later I was to take him back. About a 2 hour ride give or take.

Once he got here he was SICK with what he thought was a cold, he said sister, about 1/2 of us have it a sore throat, cough, and just a sense of not feeling well at all. I thought, oh no, but, I let it go.. So we all stayed outside Christmas Eve, as I said it was very warm out for this time of year. My brother went upstairs after the kid left at about 3 PM and he went to sleep, and didn’t get up until time for us to leave the next morning to return him back to rehab!

On December 27th about 6 PM, my throat became very sore and throughout the night I developed a bad cough. I rocked on like this for about a week, until January 4th when I decided to get tested for covid! It was a faint PINK line they said, and they told that means you’re on the tail end of this virus. Well, let me tell you, it was not until the next 2 weeks that I became very ill. It took all I had to walk to the bathroom. Of course, your doctor will NOT see you here if you are positive they say go to the ER! I’ve lost 10 pounds, and I slept day and night, as I said barely had the energy to make it to the bathroom and back to bed, or pour myself something to drink.

It was about 4 days after my positive test that Mr. Shabby came down with it, he missed a week of work he never ever does that! The man goes to work, he loves his job. But, COVID wipes you out, or it did us. I recall telling a friend I felt like I had been poisoned, I did too, my body was off, way off, and not like the flu that I have had before.

I have a very weak immune system anyway with a couple of autoimmune issues. Then we quarantined and I still am 27 days later here I am not totally well. I order all my groceries and have been NOWHERE! I do have an appointment with a lung Doctor on Feb 8th, as my lungs feel heavy at times, and I do not smoke. So, my doctor did a phone visit and wanted me to see this pulmonary doctor, and they made me an appointment.

We have all been told Omicron is very contagious, but not near as bad for the vaccinated.. I came close to just checking out folks, 2 nights in a row I thought, Lord if tomorrow doesn’t come for me it’s ok, I’m ready and to be honest I’m tired, Lord. I slowly started to feel better, and today I still have a cough, and at night my throat still gets dry and starts to bother me a tish. I’m not sleeping well right now, and my energy levels are the worst, I have NONE! If I get up and unload the dishwasher, and maybe fold a load of laundry, I have to go lay down for a few minutes.

It’s impossible to say if we had Delta, or Omicron as the test doesn’t elaborate on that, it just says positive for COVID-

Why it hits some people so hard and not all is beyond me but, I can tell you this. I am grateful that it doesn’t hit everyone as it did me. I do have a sweet friend, Sue, that had it as well when I did, and she too was so very ill. No, we have not seen each other in ages so we didn’t get from one another. We just both got it at the same time from different people.

I am still not really well, my thought process is slow, I cry at the drop of a hat, and my energy level as I said earlier is low or that of an 85-year-old. Will I recover? I’m thinking positively! Not pushing to get better, but letting my body heal at its pace. I do however take Vitamins D3, B Complex, C, and Calcium and Magnesium, with Zinc. I want to try to build my immune system, and have read a lot on the internet but, I get confused about all the information. One Doctor told me that after a certain age, you can not build up your immune system. Do any of you know if that is really true, surely it is not. If any of you are naturalists like I try to be, please share any information you may have here in the comments. It would be of great help to me, and to others reading along that might be going through this or will go through it at some point.

Love to all

Debbie
