The Angel Shoes

Please follow and like us:

It was a typical Thursday I was meeting two of my girlfriends for lunch and a little Christmas shopping, more like looking and getting ideas. First stop an outlet mall not far from us on a sunny and warmer almost Winter day in Alabama. They each found them some things and I got a 2 shirts for 30.00 so we all left happy.

Next stop at one of our favorite BBQ restaurants and some girl time and conversation. We always love our catch-up time on all the things that have taken place for us since our last girl’s day out. They were admiring my booties that I bought about three Winters ago and every time I wear them I get so many compliments. They are leopard print but so comfortable, I just love them and I could wear them every day if they went with everything.

I told them I would love to have a black or brown pair, that I could wear with anything… They said they would love a pair too. So, we thought after we had finished lunch and our girl chat we would go to a Local Department Store that carried the shoes. There was no price on the bottom of the shoes and not remembering what I paid for them a few years back I’m sure they were on sale and the store was having a huge sale I asked to try on my size.

They fit like a glove and ladies you know that as we get a little older there is nothing worse than a pair of shoes that pinch or hurt our feet, right? I have a wide foot so when I find shoes that work I feel like it is Christmas no matter the month. Well, they didn’t like them on each other but loved them on me as much as they did the pair I already had in a print. So, I took them to the counter and waited behind a young man paying on his charge card. When it was my turn he moved but stayed beside me and was putting away his receipt.

I told her I didn’t know the price that it was not on the bottom like it usually was but that I loved them on and so did my friends, and when I found a pair that fit me like these did I usually went for it. When she did the price check they were not on sale and were much more expensive than I had remembered. I told her thank you, so much and that I would wait and maybe they would be on sale at a later date. She said no problem and we walked away looking at some cosmetics on the way out the door to go to the parking lot when we were almost at the door and I heard someone say Ma’am wait, I turned around to see what was going on and there was the lady behind the counter coming towards me with a bag in her hand. I stopped and she came right up to me and said here these are for you!

I said what, for me? I don’t get it I didn’t buy them, she said no he did and pointed at the young man. I was blown away completely I tell you. I went over and said sir, I don’t know what to say these were expensive please take them back, they will go on sale I’ll get them at a later date, I can not accept them. He said yes you can they look nice on you and I overheard you say they fit like a glove it was the price that stopped you so let me do this, please.

I’ve heard about this and I have done this for people but, never have I had that done for me I was not sure how to act so I composed myself and said thank you so very much, sir. We left the store and took our time walking to the car and as we got the young man was parked a few cars down. He stopped and said Ma’am you deserved those enjoy them please and would you keep me in your prayers I require them right now. I told him yes, I sure would. No, I’m not sure what his need was and do not have to know, I have thought about him and prayed for him. I don’t know his name nor his issues as I said but, he was my earthy Angel, and hope whatever is going on in his life, God gives him his heart’s desires.  What a blessing he was to me Christmas came early for me and I am thankful to this young man and will keep him in my prayers. He took the time to pay it forward in a big way.

Smiles,

Debbie
