  1. What lovely memories! I had an Uncle Pat that visited us in Oregon from southern California once a year. He always brought me a whole box of Rocky Road camdy bars, and then another treat. One year it was a little necklace with a crackled yellow marble in a little silver cage. Its funny how the simplest little things can make such big memories in a child.

  2. Precious memories! I love your stories & appreciate you sharing. I grew up in the same era, born in 1957. My parents divorced when I was young so my Mama worked hard & struggled a lot. Like you though, I didn’t realize how hard back then. Our family & close friends were a huge blessing to us.

  3. Such a sweet memory and story. Growing up in the 1950’s and 1960’s was such a blessing for me. My memories of family gatherings, loving Grandmothers, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Life today is nothing like it was back then. We were the lucky ones. I tried to transfer these traditions on to my family but everyone has chosen to go on their own way and get together when time allows. Thank you Debbie for sharing with us.

  4. I sure love that story. I pictured everything that you were saying just like watching a movie. And I had a pair of those white Go-Go boots! That sure put a smile on my face. Thank you for sharing Debbie! ❤️

  5. Debbie, thank you for sharing your special memories of your loving Auntie. ❤️ God sends his angels and she was one of yours!
    Blessings, Vonnie

  8. What a blessing to have had such a family. Your memories are like an old movie, from the 50’s. Thank you for sharing.

  9. I love this so much. What great memories and love. Debbie, thank you so much for sharing this with your readers. As I read, I was imagining that I was the girl in the letter and it left me smiling and wondering what that would have meant and how it would feel!!
    ❤️❤️

  10. Such a sweet story filled with cherished memories, some of which reminded me of my two dearly loved aunts that I had. Both aunts were my father’s sisters. One was married with a child, and the other would come to visit us in So CA when I was very young.. The aunt who visited mor had more loss in her life…her toddler baby and then a few years later, her husband.. If she couldn’t visit she always sent me a new nightgown and doll for Christmas each year. Thank you, for this very sweet story you shared!!!

  11. I too had a very special aunt, Aunt Mary. She never married. Her nieces and nephews were her children. She made us all feel special.

  12. This is absolutely beautiful ! To have someone so special in your life has to be so precious. Thank you for sharing this and it’s opened my mind to stop and take time to remember all the good memories and the people in my life that gave them to me.
As always, thanks for sharing another part of your heart ❤️

  13. Wonderful story, wonderful memories Debbie of your beloved Aunt Louise. It sounds like you had a marvelous time with her. I was one of 8 children, my brother got sick and passed away at age 7, my Mother’s sister Kathleen (my Aunt Kate) bought me may beautiful dresses and gloves, I was 5 years old. You don’t forget things like that. We didn’t have much money either growing up, we had plenty to eat though.

  14. I can imagine you felt like a queen even at that age. Wonderful memories you will always cherish! Thanks for sharing the love between you and your Aunt.
