Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!” – James 5:9

Here comes the nagging again. Have you ever been guilty of being a cloud of rain on a sunshine-filled day? In other words, have you been in a cycle of complaining? It is really easy to fall into the “glass half full” mentality. No, we are not supposed to be happy all of the time. However, as believers in Christ, we are called to be filled with the Holy Spirit, which means we live out His fruit in our lives. It just so happens that complaining is not on that list. Today, we will take time to pray against complaining in our own lives and press into gratitude by FAITH in Christ.

  1. Very important reminder !!! I have been the ‘complainer in chief’ many times in my life. God is working on me to change it. And often it’s a day by day thing. I want to be someone who lifts up and encourages others.

  2. Pat King, the verse you posted above (Ephesians 4:31-32) is a wonderful reminder and guide for all of us. We are all guilty of complaining about something, but I just try to think of all the daily blessings the good Lord gives us daily and try to focus on all the good things in my life. I also try to be obedient to the Father, the Son~ our Savior Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and tell myself “complaining ” is not what glorifies our great & merciful God. That helps me get back on track when I fall short ♡✝️

    1. That is one thing we have together grip on, trying to stop worrying about things we can not change. It takes our joys, happiness and time away from other constructive thins.

  5. I needed this reminder today. Thank you Debbie.
I sometimes get stuck in the cycle of complaining.
I need to focus more on counting my blessings and stop complaining.

  6. AND ….. I appreciate and enjoy your posts so much! Thank you!
    Always great food for thought!
    💗🙏 & Blessings to you ~ c

  7. Why complain? If you take a moment to look around, most usually you can find someone worse off than yourself ~ If able, volunteer somewhere and give of your time. It pays great rewards, but not in $$$.
As I am older now, I have more time to think, I guess, and know I do not want to be known as as a grouchy and mean old lady!
My health is not great ~ but COULD be much worse, my weeks are busy with Dr. appts., but at least I have a car with gas in it, to get me there! And have made friends with some there.
Life is too short, and passes by much too fast, so make the most of your time ~ Be Thankful for what you have, Be Gracious and Grateful! Give someone your Smile ~ even if you don’t feel like it ~ God is Good! 💗🙏

  8. Thank you my friend. I hope I don’t have days of complaining all day long. I normally have laughter in my day. I have so much to be thankful for. I needed this today. ❤️❤️❤️
