It’s been a while my sweet friends, I hope you are all doing well. Most of you that follow the blog here are my age or in the area give or take a few years here and there. We know that as we age, trying to keep our bodies strong can be a challenge for many. I sadly am one of them. Maybe it is genetics, or I didn’t look after myself as well as I should have in my early years, or just the way it is. Either way, I do struggle with several issues that I am always working on to better my health. Prayer, being the first on the list, I believe strongly in PRAYER! As you may remember last year my bottom bridge fell out, well the dentist had to pull a tooth under the bridge, then it was downhill from there. Long story short, and over 8000.00 later I have a new one that is awful. I am trying my best to live with it because the thought of taking it out again after 5 times of temporarily being removed for this or that and remade makes me sick to my stomach, truly. The bridge is just ill-fitting and that is that.

The dentist says let’s yank it out and get them to FIX IT? I said no, I am done with that and my BP getting to 214/198 from all those shots to deaden me. So, I am on the mend looking for another dentist that can maybe sedate me. I can not and will not risk my BP ever getting that high and still being worked on again. I know, I know it sounds like poor Debbie, but let me tell you this by the Grace of our God I made it out of that chair and got myself together! It’s going to be ok, and it all works out because of FAITH! On a positive note, Spring is around the corner and no one is happier than I am to see it arrive, it can not get here soon enough. I have worked a little on my front porch, yesterday Mr. Shabby, pressure-washed our white railing and it looks so fresh and clean. I put out the new pillow covers, and a basket for some future plants as the weather warms up a bit more. Funny how little things like that can lift us, is it my age? That just cleaning and decorating the front porch a little made ME feel better? Ahhh, to the small things in life that lift us up, I give you Father, all the glory.

We, Terry and I, from Mama Katt’s Kitchen, have been walking daily at the Lake. I have sure missed it through the Winter months and can tell a difference in my body, sleep patterns, and eating habits. But, honestly she nor I felt safe at the YMCA on the indoor track with COVID, is that not just a crying shame? We lost a year, all of us to this nasty evil thing that took so many lives. We have to look up, pray, and ask God to help us get completely through it and put it behind us as we move forward. I am moving closer to God, asking Him to fill my heart, and allow it to flow through me and out to others in need. We are in some of the hardest times I have seen but, God has already won the battle so what good news. Remember we are still doing our monthly giveaways here on the blog so please enter before you go. And come back and enter daily as you help us keep this blog alive. I am not sure why, but I feel a tug to keep it flowing for now. God bless you as to go into the new week with a smile, love in your heart, and His words to live by.

Love,

Debbie

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. —Psalm 119:1

  1. It seems like forever since I have connected with you my Facebook friend. Even though it isn’t perfect I am so happy for you that your tooth has been repaired. Spring is slowly awakening in northern Minnesota and I am so happy winter is behind us. 😊

  2. Hi Debbie,
Great hearing from you, and so sorry about what you’ve been through with your dentist. May you be guided in the right direction in finding a new one.
I’ve planted flowers in my containers last week and am getting ready to mulch my beds soon. The blossoms are just beautiful. I have Johnny jump ups, pink begonias and brilliant red geraniums. My knock out roses are all green, and my Japanese young blood maple tree as red leaves blowing in the breeze.
May the Easter season and the Resurrection of Christ bring us to a deeper understanding of his perfect love and sacrifice for us.
    Be blessed. Rebecca

  3. So wonderful to hear from you, Debbie! I, like you, am so thankful that God is fully in control of all things, including the virus!
The wind and dirt have been blowing so bad for about a week here in west Texas that i haven’t been able to get out and walk! If the wind isn’t blowing hard tomorrow I need to fertilize and water my evergreen bushes real well. I will be glad to see April arriving because the wind is usually not blowing as hard!
So sad to read of your trying time with the dental experience! Hopefully, you will find a dentist to get the work done correctly!
Isn’t it strange that a small thing, like getting the porch ready for sitting outside, just lifts our spirits! Hope you have a wonderful week, friend!!💓🙏🌷🌷

    1. Susan, thank you, as always for your kind thoughtful comment to this post. You have been such an inspiration to me over the past few years. We have bad weather headed this way, tornados are coming. I love this time of year but, this weather is scary and can be deadly. Enjoy your day, Susan, love you, my friend.

  4. Debbie, I really admire you for your strong faith and positive attitude. I am always reminded in your blogs of a way to draw nearer to our Heavenly Father 💞 God’s richest blessings to you 🙏 ❤

  5. Debbie, it has been great to read the blog tonight. I have missed reading your words. I haven’t left but am not on Facebook like I used to be. We got a new puppy and I keep my eyes on him!! He turned 14 weeks old today and is so tiny and yet so rambunctious. He’s a Dorkie – breed from a Dachshund and Yorkshire Terrier!! We love him.
I’m thankful that you and Terry can get out a walk together again and keep each other company. I wondered if you had any done about the teeth issue.
I have been praying more and more and believe in prayers and know God answers them in His own time. I think about you every day and remember you in my prayers. I love you my sweet friend 🙏🏻❤️.

    1. Elaine, oh your baby sounds adorable, you must send me some photos ok. I do not get on FB like I once did at all. Kinda sad to be honest, but it is what it is. I’m living more in the real world I guess these days. I do get on a little each day and try to keep up with everyone, not always with success, lol I hope you have a great week, let me see some puppy photos when you get some time. Love you, Debbie

  6. Oh, Debbie…I think I feel like I relate to you in so many ways. I have been praying for you, and will continue to.
You are my Sista in Jesus. Message me if you ever need me….❤

    1. Melly, thank you. You have always been such a wonderful soul to me. I miss seeing your comments on FB but, I know they do not allow MOST of my followers to see them. They even block the blog post as well. I’m not sure when this all happened it just creeped up on me and BAM! I too pray about my health and well being and about each one of the people that follow me here and FB. Enjoy your evening, love you much sweet friend.

  7. Oh, Debbie, I am so sorry for your health and the dental problem! I had upper and lower partial made a few years ago and they never were right. I just put them in a drawer! It was all back teeth, but don’t have problems eating anyway! I will be 74 this year and it is hard with all that is going on in our world! My sister had a stroke in one of her eyes and couldn’t see and now she has had one in the other eye. She can see outlines of furniture and kitchen, but can’t drive or cook. She was an outside person that always worked in her yard. Now she can’t do any of that. Her BP is most all the time well over 200’s on top! I just pray for her. I also pray for you, Debbie. God has this, I know, but it is hard sometimes to keep going. God bless you and keep you in His care is my prayer.

    In His Love, Mary

    1. Oh my goodness Mary, I so hate to hear this about your sister. She will be in my prayers… You know some can get a new bridge or partial and all is well. My first bridge was perfect and so beautiful I have been sick over this one. I have lost a little bit of weight from it because I can not eat on the back teeth like I once could. God knows best, we sometimes have to Praise him in our storms don’t we. Love you, sweet lady, enjoy your evening.

  8. Hi Debbie, I didn’t know that you and Terry lived near to each other, it’s wonderful that you can walk and talk together. I’m like you, I should have taken better care of myself when I was younger. I feel for you, that you have had such problems with your bridge and your blood pressure. Hopefully you’ll be able to find a dentist that will work with you to get you better. Take care my dear friend, I’m praying for you.

    1. Hi Cheryl, yes Terry and I live about 15 minutes from one another. We have been friends for oh, 47 years I guess. I have told the story, we were once sister in laws married to brothers. I tell it this way, she kept hers, I did not. She and I share so many good, bad, and fun memories from all those years. You have a good evening too, and thank you for your prayers. Please know they are so appreciated from my heart!

  9. Hi Debbie,
I’m so glad to see you back on your blog. I don’t really think it’s your age that is causing problems. It’s being unable to visit friends and family and going to stores or gyms, etc. I go to the YMCA in my town and when They allowed it I was there. I have to wear a mask but it gets my heart rate moving. Also I have found several friends by going there over the last 12 years. We have so much fun together. We go to coffee after our workouts and we started a Bunco group. Without these ladies I think I would be in a deep depression. Some of them have health issues and don’t come to the Y yet, but if the weather is pleasant we meet at a park near us and sit in camp chairs in a big circle several feet apart. The camaraderie between us all has kept us sane. We haven’t played Bunco in over a year but once we all are vaccinated we might start again. I know it’s not for everyone but we have people tell us they think we are so lucky to have each other. We even invite them to sit with us and it’s so fun meeting knew people. I know whatever you decide to do for your teeth will be the best for you. Hoping for a blessed Springtime for us all.
    Hugs,
    Kathy

    1. Kathy, good for you that’s awesome. I love our Y, I do not smoke but can not walk with a mask on. Terry and I usually power walk 3 miles in about 45 minutes hey for a 65 and 67 year old we do ok. The lake however as I said is a much harder walk up and down and the gravel. She and I have been pretty regular about it weather permitting. I can not wait to get back to the Y when it gets better… It’s been hard on so many of us that didnt get out then we did, then we didn’t. I mean we lost a year in so many ways and my hope it to make 2021 BIG! Have a good evening, sending you ((((hugs)))))

  10. Hi Debbie, Oh how I can relate to the health problems of aging. I can’t wait for a new body in heaven. The Lord has been good to me, with all my problems and we should never take our eyes off of Him Keep praying, it has done wonders for me.
I had a rare eye surgery last August, a cataract lens that went out of place and had to be removed after 40 years. It did some damage to my eye. After believing I may be blind in my left eye for ever, I slowly got my sight back, not as good as before, but it has correcting a lot of problems that I was having with that eye. I prayed a lot and know God help me through it. The blessing is that God made my other eye stronger than ever, which I have never seen that well in my right eye and now I can read the bottom of the eye chart. Now if that is not a miracle I don’t know what is. I thank God every day. I don’t even need glasses, except to read.
So, PRAY, Debbie with all your heart, I know God answers your prayers.
I wish you well, my friend,
    Carolyn

  11. So sorry you have spent all that money and still not comfortable. That is just awful! Oh my and your BP, hope it is down and staying that way. And who says we in our golden years? LOL. Glad you and Mr. Shabby were able to spring it up outside. Yes that makes us feel better and there is hope. Blessings to you both!

    1. Thank you, Debera. My BP is stable back to 112ish over 78ish for the most part. The shots caused the spike in my BP im sure. For some reason I can not tolerate several of them all at once. Anyway the bridge is not as it should be and does hinder me eating certain things that’s for sure. So, we shall see what happens in the days and weeks to come. It was a long 5 months getting all this done and then it not being what I had hoped for at all.I hope all is good your way. I will say that being about yesterday in the beautiful sunshine 78 degrees was awesome for sure. I look forward to more days like that.

  12. Sure was great to see your post this AM! I’m sorry the dental stuff is dragging on…my sister suffered do much will ill fitting appliances so I can feel your frustration in a way… Yes Spring has sprung in NE Florida…almost jumping to Summer this week! Heating up fast! Take care Debbie, I always feel encouraged by your posts. Altho sometimes things just don’t get better or change for the good as much as we want them to…but we have to remember we are not really in charge here…that job isn’t ours…it’s His! Love and prayers my friend.
