Today is January 3rd, 2019. I woke up with this feeling, gut instinct, intuition, God I call it, you can call it whatever you like. As I said I had a feeling that something about this scheduled surgery was not right. What exactly I didn’t know, yet!

So, I remember when I went in December to see the surgeon that I asked him what about the Ultrasound made him sure that removing the gallbladder would fix things. He said ” I have not seen the results but, your Dr sent you here so I trust he read it and knows” This AM since I had not seen my Dr at all but, his Nurse Practitioner, who has NOT read the repost either but sent me to the Surgeon because when she touched me where my gallbladder was it was tender, she said. I asked her had my doctor had read the report was that why he wanted me to see the Surgeon. She said I am not sure if he has yet but he will. Well, if he did then he would have seen the gallbladder was ok!

By that I mean the ultrasound showed that the polyps I have had for 9 years have not changed at all. They are the same size no shadowing, not moving. My bile flow was good, the duct was open and all looked fine with the gallbladder only abnormality was and still is the polyps for 9 years causing no known issues.

However, there was one issue a fatty infiltrated Liver. Knows as NASH. Causing the same kind of pain I described to the Doctor and the surgeon. If you don’t know what NASH is you’re not alone I didn’t either. But, it didn’t take me long to put things together. I have a family member that suffers from this and I didn’t know the bane of it until today. After contacting her she told me all I needed to know to possibly put me on the right track. We are cousins and our Mothers are sisters.

This NASH is a non-drinker liver disease, that can turn to cirrhosis of the liver, without drinking and I do not. So, tomorrow I get up and see nt Endo to get blood work which I have never had on my liver to check the enzymes. I know many that some of you reading this have heard of it and may have it or know some that do, but, just think I would have had no gallbladder and still be hurting, wow!

Make sure that you check behind Doctors, no one is perfect and things happen every day. I just hope that I can get answers that will make me at least feel better since there seems to be no treatment for this but diet!

Another day in the life of Debbie Reynolds, with God watching over us, blessed is what we are. I guess I will keep my gallbladder since the tests show that it is working fine! Amazing Grace here we go.

Love,

Debbie

  1. I can’t believe this, I went thru the same thing, except my Dr. Who is a Gastroenterologist assured me that removing my Gallbladder would take care of my problem, it didn’t! And a month latter I was disagnosed with NASH also! So now diet and exercise, my liver bloodwork is looking much better! Good luck, you will feel much better and have more energy!

    1. Doris, I am so sorry and yes mine is a Gastroenterologist as well. I guess no one is perfect but, it sure is hard when you have to go through this. I am working hard to eat right. Veggies and fruit mostly some grilled chicken.. That’s about it for me, Happy New Year to you, from me.
      Love,
      Debbie

  2. Thank you for sharing, I know it will help to understand what’s happening to your body or at least ask more questions

  3. You may want to incorporate coffee into your diet if you do not currently drink it. I have heard that moderate coffee drinking can actually protect the liver from fatty liver disease.

  4. Debbie, I am so thankful that you not only heard the Holy Spirit but obeyed what was being told to you! Praise God you don’t have to go through an unnecessary surgery! I had to take supplements and a powdered detox for my liver so I could start healing from eczema. Through lots of research and listening to trusting authorities about the gut causing so many health problems, I am healing my gut and skin! Check out info on the microbiome. I’ve also been on probiotics and now on a microbiome probiotic. Plus had to take a leaky gut supplement for four weeks. My natural health doctor told me last September that after awhile a person can hit an overload and then our body will start having issues! No gluten and everything needs to be organic and non-gmo. Also fermented foods. Praying you are healed soon! Blessings coming to you sweet fb friend!

    1. Love you, Susan. That’s a girl I love to see that. I did that for years with very little problems then when I started to slowly eat out and re introduce foods into my diet within a year to eighteen month boom I felt bad again. I am now back on a much better cleaner diet. I am glad to hear that you are too, it does make a HUGE difference. Happy New Year from me to you.
      Love,
      Debbie

      1. Love you too, Debbie! Praying this new year will a year of restoration in all matters for you and family! Happy New Year!

  5. Glad you don’t need surgery. I have auto immune hepatitis, fatty liver. I was told I might need a liver transplant in the future. Told the Dr. no, if it’s my time. it’s my time. I just take my meds and leave it God’s hands. Was diagnosed in 2007, so far so good

  6. Debbie, it is caused by storing fat in the liver by eating carb diet. You can cure this easily on your own. Please check out Jason Fung’s YouTube and his blogs on intensivedietarymanagement.com and also dietdoctor.com. once you understand what caused it, you can cure it. Blessings to you.

  7. You are so smart in checking. They took my gallbladder out and I truly believe there was nothing wrong with it. I had been complaining of my right side hurting. I truly believe 20 years later it’s been my liver all along and now they have found a weird blood disease along with an enlarged liver and spleen!🤦‍♀️

    1. Oh Cindy, I am sorry to hear that. I hope that whatever it is, it isn’t bad and can be corrected with medication for you. Seems like we at times fall prey in the wrong hands. Happy New Year to you, from me.
      Love,
      Debbie

  8. Happy New Year Debbie, Miracle’s happen all the time, I truly believe that anyway. Right before the Holiday my husband had a cat scan and they found a large nodule on his lung, I ran around to get any prior cat scans he had and after the dr reviewed them he came to the conclusion the nodule was new, this would probably mean a biopsy would need to be done, we knew nothing throug the Hoildays what would be the next step, the dr suggested another cat scan of the whole lung, we received a call from the dr last evening the scan was done yesterday, the nodule is gone totally disappeared, I love st Jude and have done many novenas in my life also praying to God, I believe in the impossible and I believe in miracles. I wish you well Debbie, peace to you!

  9. Something to add to your research is the ketogenic diet.. Dr Ken Berry has a lot of good information on YouTube… And others do too. It is a great diet. Keto on! 😊

  10. I have intestinal issues..I always believe in things happen for reasons and to trust your gut..
So glad you didn’t have to have surgery. I had mine out when I was 21..I’m 68.. because of that I have IBS..there seems to be a relation to the gallbladder .
    Blessings
    Mary

  11. Great findings! Miracles happen! But Sweetieheart, the word is cirrhosis not psoriasis. Sound similar but different diseases. Take care. Prayers!

  12. Bless your heart, I always check behind any medical Dr or PA cause even sometimes they miss things. I’m glad you found out what it was and pray for a good outcome for you, and peace. Prayers for you my friend as always.
