Debbie, my feelings are this, you do need a smaller home with one AC, no steps and also the location needs to be a safe one. It would be wonderful if you could get the house you found and yes miracles still happen! I’ve certainly witnessed this in my life. So I’m praying you can find a buyer, then if that other home isn’t still available, God will give you the perfect one! Well I suggest you purchase s used mobile home in a park for over 50s..no stairs low maintenance and if uou bug into a park where uour a owner or co op not sure ehst uou hsve on usa. Usually gated and safe at least where mine was plus uour maintenance and taxes are very low Reply

HI DEBBIE, At our age (we are the same age), changes are so hard. I believe the perfect smaller home will come along. I agree, moving on from your beautiful large home is a lot to handle now. BUT–you can do it. and make the next home just as beautiful. As a 70 year old Realtor of 25 years, I ofter see mature people wait too long to down size. I have clients that waited until theie mid-80’s and wish they would have made the move 10-15 years earlier. Good lucj and god bless your health and future home. Debbie, I too know the struggles of up keeping a home by yourself. I truly believe you should keep it. I have taken in a couple roommates older people that really have no family they pay for their room their own food. Do far it’s been a steady income each month. And I keep the home I love with so many memories. Reply

Debbie, I will be praying for you that God will provide the right house and way for you to buy it. I understand about the stairs. Our house has stairs that go down to the walkout basement which has the door to the fenced area for our dogs. We have 2 new puppies and I’m constantly going up and down stairs. I’ve just now started entertaining the idea again less than three months out from my hip surgery. It may take a little more time, but I am looking and the prices of homes are so expensive. I owe 10 more years on this one and it’s a scary scary thing. But as we age stairs are definitely a killer and I have them in every way I turn and not just four or 513 to 15 every way I go. Reply
