What a day, I thought it was just extra stress from the holidays- It all started about 10 days ago. I felt more tired than usual, less energy, and boy I sure needed my usual amount of energy and more this time of year. I had started a collagen powder so I thought was it that is that why my stomach was upset all the time now, all the amino acids? Then the pain started it was a dull pain, but hard pain in my upper abdomen, with acid reflux that felt like a blow torch was inside me trying to work its way up and out. I couldn’t eat, and I did not want to eat.
I finally decided that it was some type of gut infection, and many years ago at Christmas I had this, I was tested then and it was called H-pylori. I bad gut bacteria that wreaks havoc on your gut, and intestines that’s for sure. It robs your energy, and you feel sick. So, I called my GI doctor, they were gone all week last week for Christmas, I called my General Practioner, the same thing he was returning tomorrow.
This AM I got up and went to a new place here in my town like an ER, after testing it was H-Pylori, and they handed me a script and said to carry this to your pharmacy. I was relieved and ready to feel better. I got to my pharmacy, but they didn’t carry this concoction of meds three in one and it was 600.00. They could order it and it would be there in a few days. I said no I can’t wait. I left there and backtracked to another and another, and yet another pharmacy in my area, but no one had it. I pulled into a parking lot feeling sick and about to cry thinking Lord, what am I going to do, where can I go? Back to the ER. home, one more pharmacy? So, I got out my cell phone and called the last pharmacy I knew of in my area.
The young lady on the other end is the one who said we are very familiar with this medication but we do not keep it here many do not because of its cost and most doctors write three prescriptions and it is MUCH cheaper. I said well, I will go back to the ER and ask if they will redo it and come to you. She said no Ma’am take a photo of the prescription and send it to this number I will call them for you. I’ll take care of it and you just head this way we will have it ready for you when you get here.
God, heard my cries, He knew I was so upset that I had jumped through so many hoops just trying to see a doctor, and now this, He opened the doors for help with such a kind young lady who handled it all and I came home took my medication and a much-needed nap.
I felt so badly for Mr. Shabby, Christmas day is our day together since all our children are married and go to their wives for Christmas dinner. Yes, we could go but we just started this about 7 years ago where we would grill steaks, with all the trimmings. Yesterday I was in bed all day unable to do anything, I mean anything. He had a sandwich and leftovers from our kid’s homes from Christmas Eve. So, this evening, I will make all the fixings, while he grills our Christmas day dinner a day late. I tell you, my friends, again, as we age at times it is the little things that can set us off, especially when we feel bad. I was so thankful to get the medication, get home, and just exhale. Thank you, Lord, for all you do for me in my hour of need. I give you all the glory. So, it is safe to say that this Christmas was a blessing but, I was under the weather and did my best to smile and act like all was well. I didn’t share this with anyone but a good friend, then Mr. Shabby yesterday, I just pushed through. It is like that friend of mine I told says, it can always be worse! I am not surprised at this infection this time of year is the only time I eat out often while shopping, they say it is caused by utensils not being cleaned well, contaminated food, etc. It is getting to where I might need to eat at home all the time these days.
Thankful, Grateful, & So Blessed
